Reports on COVID-19 Mitigation and Traffic Impacts
Government guidance and orders for "shelter-in-place" in response to the COVID-19 pandemic went into effect throughout March, 2020, triggering changes in traffic. The Road Ecology Center has published several reports on the impact of COVID-19 mitigation on traffic and the consequences of reduced traffic on crashes, fuel use, greenhouse gas emissions, fuel tax revenue, and wildlife vehicle conflict.
