Endangered Wildlife Trust

The Endangered Wildlife Trust in South Africa hosts the continent's most active transportation ecology program. They have pioneered data collection and social outreach programs for wildlife-vehicle collisions. They have partnered with industry to develop ways to reduce harm from commercial vehicles and more recently from powerlines (impacts to birds). In 2019, EWT hosted (and the REC co-sponsored) the first "African Conference on Linear Infrastructure and Ecology", which brought together ~150 scientists, engineers and NGO staff from across Africa and beyond.
