Bio
Clara Woodie is a quantitative ecologist specializing in wildlife connectivity, spatial ecology, and food web dynamics. Her PhD research examined mechanisms of persistence between predators and prey, with a focus on how predator behavioral flexibility and large-scale spatial heterogeneity influence long-term food-web stability. Before joining the Road Ecology Center, she worked on wildlife crossing and road ecology projects across California, developing quantitative modeling frameworks to prioritize crossing locations and evaluate existing infrastructure for focal species. Her current work examines how roads and traffic disturbance shape wildlife movement, behavior, and connectivity to inform effective mitigation and crossing design.
