Bio

Rachel-Ann is an undergraduate at UC Davis (Class of 2026) majoring in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology. She developed a passion for urban wildlife through conservation volunteering in her hometown in Los Angeles. At UC Davis, she is actively involved in the WFCB department as a leader in The Wildlife Society and an intern with the Museum of Wildlife and Fish Biology. Her research experience spans a range of taxa, including pit-tagging trout with the Center for Watershed Sciences, camera trapping the endangered Buena Vista Lake Shrew with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and banding cavity-nesting songbirds with the Davis Nestbox Highway. She is especially interested in human-wildlife interactions and urban ecology. Rachel-Ann is excited to join the REC team, contributing to research on how human activity impacts ecosystems. Outside of her academic and research work, she enjoys birdwatching, wildlife photography, and playing ultimate frisbee.
